You might notice a new link in my sidebar called “Improving Arlington, Texas.” I had a spare Google Pages page and thought I’d take a stab at sharing information about how to serve people in my community.
It’s still very much in the infant stage (I just had the idea this morning) so I’d really love to have your ideas on how I can enrich it. Of course, more pictures and stories of success are on the list. But are there new technologies that might help (wiki, message board) or kinds of links to related resources that you’d suggest?
I don’t plan to be the one solution for everyone, but I think that I could help a few people network together and I might just think about point people I meet to it with cheap business cards if I think it provides a good enough resource over time.
And of course if you’re from Arlington or want to toss anything in (maybe that shelter, Tamar, or some other place you know, Stephen?) I’d be glad to hear about it as well. I’d like to write a few short articles about such places that would be featured on the main page at least.

Great idea P.
I was also thinking about all the different people who move into Arlington. Is there anyway this site can be expanded to help them (find a doctor/dentist, local stores, videos, coffee shops, etc…). It may not be appropriate for this site you are doing but just a thought.
I will keep thinking about ways to add to your current site. Keep up the great work.

Good idea. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to ask about doctors, mechanics, etc. when I moved to a new place (and sometimes after I’d been in a place for a while). I’ll have to think about that one some more.
